Before You Renovate is designed to be useful without requiring an account, a sign-up, or the silent collection of project details through a website form.

What the website does

The lessons, glossary, downloads, readiness check, and Renovation Clarity Assistant are educational tools. The readiness check and assistant run in your browser. Their entries are not submitted to Before You Renovate by this website.

The review-request form also runs in your browser. When you choose “Create email request,” the site formats your answers and asks your device to open its email application. The site itself does not upload or store that form. The message and any attachments are transmitted only if you send them through your email provider.

Information you choose to send

If you email, call, or submit a review request through your email application, we may receive the contact information, project details, documents, and questions you provide. That information may be used to respond, communicate about the request, maintain ordinary business records, and protect the service from misuse.

Do not send information that is not needed for the question. Remove Social Security and tax ID numbers, bank or payment details, passwords, access or alarm codes, unnecessary signatures, and private information about other people.

No contractor lead-selling

Before You Renovate is not designed as a contractor lead marketplace. Information you send for an educational review is not offered for sale as a contractor, designer, or third-party service lead. A disclosure may still be required when necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, or use a service provider that supports ordinary communications and operations.

Cookies, analytics, and hosting

This website package does not include advertising pixels, analytics scripts, user accounts, or server-side form storage. It is hosted through GitHub Pages. Like most hosting providers, the platform may process technical request data such as IP address, device and browser details, requested pages, and timestamps under its own terms and privacy practices.

Email and document retention

Email is not a secure file vault. Messages and documents you choose to send may remain in sender and recipient mail systems and backups. You may contact us to ask about correction or deletion of material you sent, subject to any legal, security, or ordinary recordkeeping need.

Educational disclaimer

The website, downloads, assistant responses, and review support provide general educational information. They are not legal advice, contract review, engineering advice, architectural or design advice, code compliance advice, financial or lending advice, an inspection, an estimate, a contractor recommendation, or a guarantee of project cost, schedule, quality, compliance, or outcome.

Renovation requirements vary by property, location, agreement, professional role, and current law. Use qualified local professionals for decisions that require licensure, site investigation, legal interpretation, financial guidance, design responsibility, permitting, engineering, or trade expertise.

Downloads and external links

Worksheets and guides are starting points and should be adapted to the project. Links to Bid Ready Home or other websites take you to a separate service with its own functionality and policies.
